Day 18 - July 29, 2010

Good Morning!

Well, I am leaving on a much need holiday. I will be out of wireless service and cell service for sure until Monday evening.

I have packed some wonderful food and ALL of my product so that I plan on staying on track! We have got some really good outdoor games and I plan on doing ALOT of hiking with my daughter and just general fun! The old me would have sat around the fire eating chips and drinking beer and clamato! Not this trip! This is the new active Candice and it helps that all of my shorts fit me so comfortably. It makes want to be more active!

So have wonderful next four days and I will be anxious to tell you all about the trip and how it went. Even though we will be on our last day there on Monday, I will still be doing my cleanse that day so that Tuesday should reveal some AWESOME results!!

Day 17 - July 28, 2010

Well...I am starting to see and feel some differences. I put on some dress pants for work today and they are loose! I mean loose, through the hips, bum, waist...I really feel it!

I am having a very stressful time right now with some outside issues. Lots on my plate, so to speak. This would normally be a time where eating and eating ALOT would be the priority in order to deal with things. I am not feeling that compulsion. I am really looking forward to getting away. No phones, no work, NO STRESS!!

Going to try and get on the treadmill tonight after I have done all the running around to get ready for the trip. Bust some energy!

PS. I forgot to tell you on cleanse day that I actually went grocery shopping right after work because we were out of fruit and milk and I am pleased to report that even though I was on my did not bother me at all to be in the store!! Definitely way easier the second time around...

Day 15 - July 26, 2010

So today is the second time I have cleansed. So far I can report that I feel much better this time around. Even the taste (yes Barb, you were right!) is better this time as well.

As the day goes on I am just now starting to feel a bit tired. I am hoping that because this is Kaitlyn's first day back at daycare after a week off, that she will be tired too and we can go to bed early!

I am looking forward to stats tomorrow and I promise I will send them out first thing in the morning!

Is the day over yet????!!!!

Day 14 - July 25, 2010

Well happy Sunday! It has been a gorgeous weekend weatherwise and there is certainly a lot going on in the City right now. Capital Ex and Taste of Edmonton. Now in my past these two events would be the perfect excuse to completely not think about what I am doing and just go for it! Then by the end of summer I would wonder how exactly my closet Shrinks my clothes!! lol

Not this year. We are going to partake in the Capital Ex for my daughter's sake but will pack a nice backpack of good choices of snacks. Better for all of us! It can be difficult to go to something like that if you are not prepared. Just the smells can be overwhelming! I am not even going to venture over to Taste of Edmonton. Way too difficult, at least this year so I will avoid it all together.

We are planning a family camping trip leaving this Thursday night and will be gone until Monday. I am not foreseeing this to be too difficult and I am the one doing the grocery shopping and stocking the trailer! Perhaps what could be tough might be the sitting around the campfire and wanting to get into the Smores, but I will restrain myself and have some almonds instead. At least that is the plan. Plan, plan, plan...I am starting to really feel that is the ticket to success with this!!

I may or may not have wireless access when we are gone so you may not hear from me during that time. I will try and if I can, I will let you know how it's going. If not, you will have to wait and find out upon my return!

Tomorrow is cleanse again. I am hoping it will feel a little easier this time. I will let you know.....Looking foward to weighing and measuring on Tuesday morning!

Day 13 - July 24, 2010

Why is it when you embark on something like this, there always seems to be so many challenges that come along? Between feeling like my horomones are raging and the heavy demands right now at work and having a husband that works out of town so the bulk of home and child rearing falls to me, where is the me time suppose to come from?

Now...I'm not trying to sound negative just wanting to speak the truth about what for women, becomes one of our biggest stumbling blocks as far as weightloss. For example, as I sit here and try and write this blog, my Kaitlyn is pulling on my leg for me to find her toy, my husband is home and asking me where is this, where is that, did you take care of this, did you take care of that....oh and by the way, what's for supper??

When are we suppose to have the time and energy to devote to thinking about what we are putting in our mouths let alone have an hour to yourself to exercise?

This I think is one of the toughest things for women and why we get pushed into that corner of having to give up something and let's face it we are women what we usually decide to give up is things and time for ourselves.

I AM REFUSING TO GIVE UP!!! I am sitting listening to my daughter complain, my husband nattering in the background and I am blissfully typing away and refusing to be distracted....this is exactly the time I would be reaching for something fatty to shove in my mouth and instead, I am writing to you.

I wonder if there is any wine in the pantry???!! just kidding....I think i will look for my I-pod instead...

Day 12 - July 23, 2010

I am have a good Friday so far. I recovered from yesterday by drinking lots of water and sticking to program. Another thing I did do was have a couple of ounces of the cleanse drink to help clean my body of the impurties that I injested last night. Worked like a charm. Thanks coach!!

Looking forward to the weekend and I think that I am going to cleanse on Sunday instead of Monday so I will have results on Monday. I think I am entering my "time" because I am really, really grouchy and wanting to park my butt in front of the fridge. I am going to try my best to get through and not fall into my old habits of snacking and being lazy. I am going to get my butt on the treadmill and hope that I can work off some of those hormones!

I will keep you posted!

Day 11 - July 22, 2010 PART II

Sorry this is so late. My daughter has been staying with my Mom and Dad for a little holiday this week and I am blogging from their place out by Spruce Grove.

So this day ended up being the BIGGEST challenge to date. I did really good all day, drank lots of water and had my shakes. But......when we got to Boston Pizza, one of the partners of our firm decided to just order several appetizers and a large pizza for the table!! MY!!!

So I knew I had to give up something in the way of calories. I did not want to insult the generosity of my employers but at the same time, I did not want to blow all the hard work I have done so far. So I did not have anything to drink but water and I opted for the lowest calorie food. I took a handful of nachos and stayed away from the large beautiful, tastey melted cheese in the middle and had only a little gucamole and salsa. No sour cream! I had one slice of pizza and one small piece of pizza bread, no dipping sauce. Believe me, FGB was yelling really, really loud but I put her on ignore and thought hey...enjoy the fact that you are getting any of this at all!! Ha.ha.ha.

All in all, I am very pleased with myself. What could have turned into a complete and utter pig out situation ended up being controlled and well thought out. I left the restaurant feeling nicely satisfed and most importantly IN CONTROL! I have not felt in control of that part of my life for a very long time, if ever.

I guess this really is the beginning of a big transformation....

Have a great night everyone! Talk to you tomorrow

Day 11 - July 22, 2010 - PART I

Good Morning,

Well, challenge day! Feeling good, feeling strong. I am going to blog today AFTER the day is over, later this evening and let you know how I made out.

Have a great Thursday!

Day 10 - July 21, 2010

Hi All,

Well. I sure had a great day yesterday! I was in a fantastic mood all day. It amazes how when you get good results from something, you don't want to spoil it! I made a delicious supper and enjoyed it and had a good workout on my treadmill for an hour.

I am going to have a challenge tomorrow. One of my most favorite places pre program to go and have a good "pig out" is Boston Pizza. Well, we have our yearly Summer Fun Day at work and low and behold...guess where drinks and food is being held afterward...BOSTON PIZZA!!!!! I knew I would get tested but didn't expect this type quite so soon. Oh well...I have a plan to deal with my "fat girl brain"!! I am going to go on-line and decide what I will be having PRIOR to going so that hopefully by not have to peruse the menu, I will stay strong. I know that they do have some good options now re: food so that I won't go for the bandara pizza bread or chicken wings or dry ribs...or OMG I have to stop! Salad, salad...think salad! ha.ha.

Don't worry I refuse to wake "FGB" from her coma! I know that you will be rooting for me and we will all face these challenges...they can be overcome!

Day 9 - July 20, 2010 - Results Day

WOW...all I can say is WOW!! I am really, really impressed with my results. So just to give you a recap, the stats are as follows:

Started product on Wednesday, July 14th
Weight: 195 lbs
Total Body Inches: 373" (this was measuring both upper arms, chest, waist, abdomen, buttocks, upper thighs, calves and upper knees)

Deep Cleanse Day yesterday (Monday, July 19th) and stats are as follows:

Weight: 189 lbs
Totaly body Inches: 357.5

The great thing is that I am living my life, enjoying summer, not hungry and feeling really good!

I am more motivated that ever to really see what this program can do for me over the coming weeks. My shake really tasted good this morning and I'm feeling a bounce in my step.

I think my "fat girl brain" has gone into a coma! Ha,ha

Day 8 - July 19, 2010 PART II

Well, it's 7:30 p.m. and I have survived my first cleanse day!! Oh my, what a day!!
I didn't know how determined my "fat girl" brain would be and how much of this would be mind over matter. She was really mad!!! (ha,ha).

I am looking forward to having my shake tomorrow morning and I am sure that it will taste really, really good. I also am looking forward to weighing and measuring tomorrow morning. Never thought I would ever say that in my life...."looking forward to weighing"...unheardof!!

Well, I am going to bed. I am going to have my last 4 oz of my Cleanse for Life and yet again...more water and then off to bed.

Good Night.

Day 8 - July 19, 2010

Good Morning,

It is 10:00 a.m. and I have officially been on the cleanse since waking at 7:00 a.m. So far, so good. Drinking LOTS of water and I have had one Isagenix snack so far to control cravings. I actually don't physically feel hungry...yet! We will see as the day goes on. I am amazed at how so much of our eating habits are controlled by our brain. Physically I am not hungry but mentally I can hear the chubby girl screaming for something. Crazy isn't it?

So my friend James at work who is very supportive with lots of humor and sarcasim...which I love, is already telling me stupid jokes to test how hungry my brain is....NICE! Just because I laughed he says I am failing already...HA! We'll see whose laughing when I get through the day no problem!!

I promise I am going to post later today to let you know how I am feeling on the cleanse. The only negative so far I would say is that the cleanse product tastes.....ummmm.....takes some getting use to! My coach, Barb, says that it will taste better as I continue on the program as the impurties leave my body. All I can say....I HOPE SO!

Have a great Monday morning and I will post later today.

Day 7 - July 18, 2010

Hello All,

Sorry, my computer was on the fritz!!! I am here to say that my first weekend on the program was excellent! I have had some challenges to say the least, but I think I really passed! I didn't eat nearly what I would have on any other program and I tried to drink as much water as I could. I think the weekends are a challenge for the water intake versus during the week when you can kind of stay on a schedule, but all in all, I think I did pretty good! Does wine count as water????? (just kidding)

Tommorrow is cleanse day...EEEEK!! I hope I won't be hungry, but I am hoping for the best!

I will talk to all of you in the morning!

Saturday, July 17, 2010

Day 6 - July 17, 2010

Well it's Saturday morning. Just had my shake and feel great! I have been officially on the program for 3 days now and feel good. I pulled out my shorts to put on. At the beginning of the summer these shorts, after being freshly laundered, were very tiiiiggggghhhhht! I pulled them on this morning no problem! Yaaay. I haven't weighed myself yet. I am going to do this after cleanse day (which is Monday) but you know even if I just have extra room in my shorts already....I'm THRILLED and better yet......NO MUFFIN TOP!!

I won't lie. I had a moment of weakness last night. My neighbour had a birthday party and I had a glass of wine. I came home and I wanted to I looked and looked and almost grabbed the tortilla chips...but you will be proud to know I ate the rest of the salad I had made for dinner. So this morning to put on the shorts and feel that difference already, I am so glad I made that decision.

I am feeling so good that I am now off to my friend Kris' house to get pampered. She is does esthetics from home and is going to do my nails, pedicure and wax my eyebrows. She is fantastic!

Kaitlyn said this morning...."hey big fat mummy" in her singsong voice and I said "not for long"....with a big smile :)

Have a great day!

Day 5 - July 16, 2010

Good Morning on this rainy Friday! Well, one thing for sure is that I passed a very serious test last night! I'm sure many of you will be able to relate to this one. My girlfriend stopped by and we LOVE to drink red wine together! My neighbours also came over and had a drink....I am proud to say I DID NOT HAVE ONE DRINK!! Now don't get the wrong impression I am by no means a "chronic" ha,ha,ha..but I do like my wine! I don't think that you can't have a glass but if I really want this to set in, I think it's important to not have those things right away.

I also am noticing that my tummy doesn't feel nearly as "round" as it use to, especially when sitting in my office chair at work. I don't feel like I want to hide with a sweater over my t-shirt nearly as much! I made dinner last night and didn't feel compelled to want to have a huge plate. I was surprised by this because anytime I have tried meal replacements in the past, when you got to have your one meal...I PIGGED OUT! Not with this...I just ate a nice normal serving...not my usual two dinners on one plate! ha,ha,...see you have to know that is how I gained my weight. It wasn't with fast food or junk food, it was just overall too much food. Too much bread, pasta, pyrogies, sour cream, gravy, butter, mashed I making you hungry yet! Ooops! I guess I what I am saying is that I love to cook and I just use to have too much of a good thing. I guess that saying applies to everything in life!

First weekend and I have my Dad's birthday BBQ tomorrow. The weekends were always the worst for over-indulgence but I am feeling really good about it and really strong! Going to enjoy a nice big helping of my Mom's wonderful garden lettuce and small serving of steak. Should be great! I will then have cleanse on Monday.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Thursday, July 15, 2010

Day 4 - July 15, 2010

GOOD MORNING!!! All I can say is WOW! I feel really good. I had a great first day. On any other program I have been on the first few weeks were hell, let alone the first day. Usually it was starvation central. I have to say I am pleasantly surprised.

One thing I am really noticing this morning is my energy level...I feel really good! It was easier to wake up this morning. I think I only hit snooze a couple of times instead of at least 5. Usually by this time in the morning the waist on my incredibly shrinking pants would already be pinching my stomache from having had my bagel and cream, they actually feel, dare I say it?...a little looser.

Day 2....the plan is to having my shake for lunch and the snacks throughout the day. Supper tonight will consist of chicken breast, potato and salad. Not feeling like making quick fast food.....this is a good thing.

PICTURES - JULY 13, 2010

Day 3 - July 14, 2010

Well, so product arrived last night!!!! Yay! I have officially started this morning. This consisted of have a chocolate nutritional breakfast shake, an accelerator pill and a one ounce shot of Ionix (brain food). All tasted very good, very impressed. Thought it would be chalking, but it's very good! I feel a lot of energy and I am not hungry. I am surprised...I really thought I would miss my bagel!

I will post again later today and let you know how I am feeling as the day goes on. I will be having another shake at lunchtime and some healthy snacks in between such as carrots, almonds, snap peas and LOTS OF WATER!!! Of course! I can't wait until my body gets use to that.

I had a terrible sleep last night and I am hoping the program helps with that as well. I will keep you posted.

Lastly, I took the photos...or actually Gary took the photos and I am attaching them here. Not quite as scary as I thought but hopefully in a month's time they will look scarier in comparision to the new ones I will post then.

Day 2 - July 13, 2010

Well this is day 2 and my product should be arriving at my door either today or tomorrow. I spent some time in the mirror last night. that I have decided to embark on this journey, I am able to really look at myself. Almost with the eyes of an impartial person. It's amazing what you see. For example, I have nice skin. I have pretty eyes and I like my face. I have the upper arms the size of some of my best friend's upper thighs and really, whose ass is that anyway?

I have made some changes already in my diet. For example, I purchased a 1.5L bottle of Evian water and I keep it full and in my office and I am trying to drink at least two everyday. I might as well move my desk into the bathroom though because I am peeing every 5 minutes! I also opted for an english muffin with egg this morning instead of my usual everything bagel with herb and garlic cream cheese.

Tonight is going to be the best night though because tonight I get to go and buy the bikini. EEEEK!!!! I wonder if they have paper bags available to put over your head so you don't have to see yourself in the suit under the ugly lights that they ALWAYS have in the dressing rooms. And speaking of dressing rooms, why don't they have skinny mirrors instead of ones that actually make you look bigger....are they not trying to get you to BUY the clothes??

Anyhow....I will have pictures posted tomorrow and the challenge will really begin...

Monday, July 12, 2010

Day 1 - July 12, 2010

Well....this is the year I turn 40! I have decided to embark on what my friends think is crazy and that is a weightloss and wellness program and have you follow me. I am going to let my husband take a photo of me in a bikini in all my glorious 195 lbs and post it on this blog! The program is IsAgenix. The challenge is to get on this program and stay on it and experience maximum results. By the end of 365 days, my life should be completely different.

So a little bit about me and how and why I got here. Well, I was always one of those lucky girls who never have to think about what she ate. Got lots of exercise and didn't really think about it. Then.....wham! During my mid 20's all the bad eating and indulgences caught up and slowing that scale starting climbing. I always thought, "oh it's just 10lbs, just 20lbs, etc", "I take it off, no problem"....ha! It's quite a revelation to look at yourself in the mirror and realize that you have back fat! I mean, back fat...who every dreamed such a thing could exist!

Anyway now here it is almost 20 years later and I have finally decided to do something! Or perhaps more appropriately, my Ah moment was when my 3 1/2 year old daughter Kaitlyn, said to me last week...."Hey, big fat mummy, you have big fat boobies!" Yeah....I won't say anymore about that special moment.

My friend turned me onto IsAgenix. The program is simple. Cleansing the body of impurities on a daily basis by introducing supplements into one's daily diet. One day a week involves a full day cleanse. WHAT NO FOOD!!!! Well, my friend says it's delicious and easy....let's see. You are trying to sell this to the person who at times really sat in front of her refrigerator, unhinged her jaw and went to town!

Well folks, so it begins.....the picture of me as of this week will be posted shortly. Wish me luck!!
I am going to take measurements and weight weekly and post it here. My husband has gratefully agreed to continuing to take photos once a month in the same bikini so you can see the difference.
